The mechanism that records reality is not something that is easy to diagnose. To many of us we spend our entire life with out a comprehensive understanding of the connection that guides us or speaks to us in everyday life. The voice has become a low sometimes irritating hum that we long ago learned to ignore.
Yet, so many of us are wondering through life looking for a purposeful direction only to spit on the signs and the sound of guidance as it shows up in our lives.
Our filters have become clogged, dirty and incapable of processing reality on a base level. Meaning we only see what we want to see instead of seeing what is truly in front of us. This becomes an unhealthy behavior when the narrative of our lives, the story we tell our selves about how the world is in relationship to us becomes dark.
The darkness encompasses every aspect of our being and even the good parts of life that we used to see with joy and wonder are met with skepticism and criticism.
We have come to a place where we can no longer channel the light, we can no longer see the magnificent way in which life is moving all of existence in our favor.
Why?
Because we have not cleared the channel. The channel is ourselves, the idea of who we are. Our identity built up from the time we woke up to this world and began to remember that we are something. What day was that for you? Do you remember how old you were when you woke up to life and had your first memory?
We have lived lifetimes from the first memory of ourselves as children until now and with out knowing have been stacking memory upon memory, identity upon identity onto ourselves creating a self to face the world. Some see it as cold and dark, full of danger and hate. Some see it as a joy and a place of wonder.
How ever we have been brought up to see the world has created a self that now exists as a filter thick with layer upon layer of story and trauma creating a new version of reality every time reality enters our minds.
With out knowing we are bending reality to the smallest and largest degree based on a self that no longer exists but existed 10, 20, 30 years ago to deal with the reality of that self’s present moment. We no longer can see reality clearly. We no longer have the real eyes given to us upon awakening, therefore what we bring to the world is distorted, its messy and sick. Not always and not for everyone but, for those that feel the chaos of their lives that feel tired and drained, afraid and weak something must change.
We can change, we can become the clear channel once more that allows the beauty of life and creation to flow through us uninterrupted by trauma and the past. To do so we must be willing to forget ourselves. We must die to ourselves.
The ego will tell you that you need it. That you need the memories and the fear to protect yourself from the future. It will tell you that it has gotten you this far in life, how could you think to let it go now. It will use a thousand forms of deception to trick you into believing that you are nothing with out this Identity of self.
The truth is it will be the most difficult thing you will ever do. It was for me. It continues to be the most difficult thing to do, everyday letting go of my past mistakes and my future fear and walking into life asking to see reality as it is with out the tinge of Matt distorting it. The funny thing is that the only way to truly honor this form. This Idea that is Matt is to let go of it so that I will be free to channel the magnificence of creation or God in the only way that I am able because of my unique gifts.
The same is true for everyone of us. The greatest deleusion that is upon us is that Matt must become something, when in reality Matt will never become more than a reflection, a shimmering of light in an endless eternity but the Conciousness that fills Matt will be eternally present and remembered if only Matt will allow.
What a great choice we have. To come to awareness and see that the only thing in the way of eternal life is me.
As Saint Francis of Assis put it, “It is by self forgetting that one finds, it is by dying that one awakens to eternal life.”
Breathe in the cleansing waters of eternity and be reborn.
