Agression, force only produce counter forces. Since we live in a physical world we are dealing with the forces of physical law constantly. I couldn’t break wind with out force, and trapped gas hurts.
So why does the Tao Te Ching talk about never doing anything, never being an agressor or a force of any kind?
Well, because according to the Lao Tzu, a fart will come out when it is ready and I do not need to force it. Well that is real convient but what about this job interview?

Like most (all) of the Tao, this one has meaning on different levels.
On another level, fear causes physical, mental and spiritual tension, which blocks the flow of energy. Tense muscles can’t throw a punch as fast. If you fear you can’t make a jump, your muscles will tense up as you try and you’ll jump shorter than you otherwise might have. “Brain fog” is often nothing more than mental tension and fear you can’t find an answer.
Likewise, fear and doubt block the flow of spiritual energy as well. From an Eastern standpoint, tension blocks the flow of chi along meridians. From a Judeo-Christian standpoint, fear and doubt block blessings and prevent prayer from being answered. We have to have faith that the prayer will be answered, AND believe we’re also worthy of receiving what we ask for. 😉
